AfterLife

AfterLife is a DeFI digital legacy system preventing crypto loss via inactivity.Users keep control while active;if inactivity is proven, guardians trigger secure asset distribution among beneficiaries

Description

AfterLife is a decentralized digital legacy protocol designed to ensure that blockchain assets are not lost when a user becomes inactive or can no longer access their wallet. It addresses the core problem of crypto inheritance by introducing a Proof-of-Life system, where users periodically confirm activity through a heartbeat mechanism. As long as the user remains active, they retain full control over their assets.

If inactivity exceeds a predefined threshold, the protocol enters a warning state and can transition into legacy execution. Assets are not locked in advance; instead, they remain usable until inactivity is confirmed. Trusted guardians can attest to inactivity, but they cannot steal or move funds, and the user always retains the ability to revive the protocol before distribution begins.

AfterLife enables intelligent asset distribution rather than simple transfers. Beneficiaries can receive funds through delayed releases, long-term vesting, or precise percentage-based allocations, making it suitable for trust-like use cases such as family inheritance or dependents.

Overall, AfterLife functions as a living, autonomous digital will—preserving user sovereignty while ensuring that digital assets transition securely and responsibly if the unthinkable happens.

Progress During Hackathon

Designed the AfterLife protocol architecture, defined Proof-of-Life logic, guardian confirmation flow, inactivity states, and beneficiary distribution model with revival and vesting mechanisms.
